Books by Frank Swinnerton:     Reflections from a Village

First published by Hutchinson & Co., Ltd, London, 1969.

This example is the third impression, published in the same year, hardback, 8vo, approximately 8½ ins x 5½ ins, grey cloth boards, gilt design to front board, gilt title & blue decoration to spine, grey end papers with sketch of a village scene, 196 pages, sketch to title page and three sketches at section headings + sketch decorations in text, all by J. S. Goodall.

This is a delightful personal and autobiographical account of life in Cranleigh, Surrey, where Swinnerton lived for over forty years and just a village when he first went to live there. He recalls some friends, his Tudor cottage and people in the village, and includes comments on the changing literary scene.
